‘The Hobbit : The Desolation of Smaug ‘ better than the first
It is well known to all readers that I am not exactly one of those who defend the decision to split the film adaptation of ‘The Hobbit ‘ in three films – as previous two were originally planned, I evoke serious doubts .
I know it’s more than the leap of the film is a sympathetic adventure devised by Tolkien , but also most epic load is achieved by trying to reach the Rings trilogy , something diametrically opposed to the original literary lightly .He would play against this unexpected trilogy.
The premiere of ‘The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey by Peter Jackson in 2012 confirmed my fears , assuming that the remaining deliveries were to maintain a similar level, perhaps worse in ‘The Hobbit : The desolation of Smaug by Peter Jackson, 2013 by its nature ,as ribbon transition and maybe something better can be seen in ‘The Hobbit : Departure and return by Peter Jackson for 2014 will be the climax of the story .
Well, I was wrong , because, despite its obvious weaknesses, ‘The Hobbit : The Desolation of Smaug “is a better, more compact and more effective as luxurious hobby film than its predecessor.
The strengths of ‘ The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug ‘
One of the things I’m clear when I will see the film adaptation of anything that how it is going to be change and how important is to see it if they really work within the set , but then it is always inevitable to assess whether certain plot solution is better or worse than originally designed for that story.
One of my big problems with ‘The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey ‘ was that it does not changed from the original literary work and only served to heighten my sense of being a simple story stretching beyond due .
That has changed in ‘The Hobbit : The Desolation of Smaug ‘ , as there are several successes, mainly aimed at the need to link more directly to the film ‘The Lord of the Rings ‘ , but also to better define some characters .
Posts to open several fronts, I would have liked more on Peter Jackson excellent narrative ability that he showed in ‘The Lord of the Rings ‘ to tell several stories in parallel, something that gets here after separation of the group Gandalf – immaculate McKellen but already had it . This makes for an entertaining and create hard frame – very clear vocation of prequel to the previous trilogy , and also a necessary relief to Odyssey Bilbo , something that is much appreciated , as clear signs of exhaustion and for having come so widespread so disproportionate .
The presence in ‘ The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey ‘ characters like Galadriel and Saruman was a burden that broke the rhythm and feared the reappearance of Legolas was going to go the same way , but I have to eat my words . And, with its ups and downs – the character of Evangeline Lilly did not work at the individual, although it contributes to the whole – , the strong presence of the elves seems sound , since it several interesting details to emerge give more authority to one of the dwarves and even the romantic part of me is quite bearable than expected – if I’m honest , I was more tiresome everything about Aragorn and Arwen in ” the Lord of the anillos’ .
However, great improvement is the character played with solvency Luke Evans, whose presence in the novel was relatively anecdotal and here grows to the point that not only has interest in itself, but even takes over the screen during their scenes . Yes, it is fair that nothing can overshadow Smaug , visually spectacular and unprecedented strength from the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch , whose gravity reaches new heights here . There are also certain additions in this case and I find it surprising that another delicate and dangerous conversation between two characters – Bilbo and Smaug – again be the best of the function, and then the same thing happened in the first film with the brilliant scene starring Bilbo – how clever Jackson and Del Toro were to hire Freeman- Martin and Gollum .

So far everything has been good with words, but ‘The Hobbit : The Desolation of Smaug ‘ also has a dark side , but surely many of the problems in some comment may sound like little more than platitudes on all complaints and I poured myself on many others.
The first essential thing is that the 161 minutes of footage are not serious excess eventually becomes an insurmountable cancer is already noted on the parallel plots , but attached to it is certain weaknesses of the script – sorry for instance, the use of much improved Stephen Fry or the simple inclusion of Radagast , although their presence is weaker and more standard here, just assuming a slab that causes almost disconnected from what was happening on screen, even in no time without getting bored or feel cheated , which could have happened with that coitus interruption that Jackson sneaks us as a denouement, but the case is given.
There are times that we can not put into words something that we are very clear and that is happening to me in the case of my real big problem with ‘The Hobbit : The Desolation of Smaug ” , as defined as lack of magic is probably something most may know , but let me produce some dissatisfaction in something so vague . Here’s more sense of risk , a charge of more adventure and got up in times of low interest forces that are part of a whole and are not small islands that come to mind or to convey the feeling of being a serious trap by the script, but the whole lacks spark. That I do not know why I do that distance good movies of the really good and getting marcarte , either by the vibrant show you just saw , or because you’ve been so fascinated by what happened to you that you even enjoyed their “failures” . That does not happen here .
In short, ‘The Hobbit : The Desolation of Smaug ” is good entertainment and at times almost reaches the level exhibited by Jackson ‘s trilogy ‘ The Lord of the Rings ‘ , but as it proceeds it confirms that this is a work that never should have been divided into three installments .
Yes, it has been apparently seen admitting that my doubts on whether to do it in two lots did not come to mind . A lime and sand , but it leaves me a much better aftertaste ‘The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey ‘ , a film that also has increasingly liking . I think and hope that will not happen the same way that concerns us .
